This Labor Day was the day before the first day of school for the children and teens in my neighborhood. The first day of a school year like no other. To provide a little semblance of normalcy, as well as a sense of celebration during these crazy times, I conducted mini back-to-school photo sessions right by my home. 19 families with a total of 43 children – ages ten months to twenty-somethings) stopped by for brief, yet productive sessions. Many thanks to my neighbor Adrienne (whose spunky children are pictured above) for this popular idea, and kudos to the weather gods for giving us an impeccable day and gorgeous light.

After nearly 6 months of isolation, it was super fun to see many familiar faces and to meet new (to me) neighbors as well.

Here are some of the beautiful kids and teens who who just entered their new grades – I hope you (as well as your parents) are all off to a good start to what surely will be an unforgettable year.
