The weather gods were merciful on that first day of September at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA. After what seems like endless bouts of rain in the last few weeks, the clouds held tight and provided a giant soft box, with the exception of a few minutes when the sun peeked through as if to remind us that it can still be punishing in September. (Thank you, sun. I did remember, sweltering under my mask on for two straight hours).
Maria’s Senior Session was a dream. Not only did she follow my session guide with her wardrobe and styling, she proved to be a natural in posing as well. I would never encourage anyone to become a model, but hey, seriously …
Probably better to embark on and finish that senior year first. These are crazy times we live in, nothing is the way it’s supposed to be, and the future is uncertain. I hope I can provide some sense of normalcy and grounding by creating these portraits for you, Maria. I wish you all the best for this coming year and beyond.
Special shoutout to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens for waiving the photography fee for seniors this year. Such a generous gesture. Make sure you visit the gardens sometime. It’s a beautiful place at any time of year and very easy to socially distance.
