We eschewed the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin during their peak bloom weekend in favor of the magnolias at the Enid Haupt Garden at the Smithsonian Castle. While in the latter stages of bloom, they were still spectacular, and the volume of visitors, while significant, was much more manageable.
