The Supreme Court steps were cordoned off for a very important looking wedding party, the sun was blaring, the wind was crazy, a huge black cloud appeared out of nowhere and dumped ten minutes worth of sudden rain on us (while the weather app insisted that it was partly cloudy), and did I mention it was freezing cold? 

Last weekend’s Senior Session is in the books as a reminder that the best laid plans can be thwarted and that a pivot, change of perspective and perseverance can save the day. I had taken a long walk-around on Capitol Hill the afternoon prior to this session to check on the blooms and any possible closures which happen pretty frequently in DC. Even chatted with a security guard who assured me that nothing special was planned for the following day.
