What a contrast to last year! I met this wonderful family late last fall at our first family session in DC when it was so (uncharacteristically) chilly, we were literally wrapped in fuzzy fleeces and ended up at the tropical U.S. Botanic Garden to warm up.
Fast forward to this weekend when the sun was beginning to peek out between the cloud cover at 7:30 am and the temperatures were still bearable before heading back into the 90’s with the characteristic Washington humidity of about 300%. By 9:15 we had captured a set of beautiful images of these spirited girls and their wonderful parents. Turns out that Wolf Trap National Park has been one of their favorite stomping grounds, especially during the pandemic, to vent extra energy by running across meadows as well as play “the floor is lava” in the creek (or “river,” as the girls called it).
Here’s a selection of my favorite shots from this fun session. I think I’ll be back to play some “the floor is lava” myself in the next few weeks – maybe without thousands of dollars of camera gear on my shoulder. 🙂
